Shea Butter

The natural shea nut is uniquely rich in triterpenes—a class of active compounds valued for anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and collagen-preserving properties. These bioactive triterpenes, alongside shea’s moisturizing fatty acids, make shea butter a prized ingredient for foods, skincare products, and even therapeutic applications. Kerfoot’s shea oils are cold-pressed and manufactured in certified, organic, and kosher facilities, meeting BRC standards for global safety and quality. Exported to over 40 countries, Kerfoot delivers high-purity, traceable shea oils ideal for premium wellness, beauty, and food brands.

Description

Shea nut, native to Sub-Saharan Africa, supplies 40–50% healthy fats and is a traditional staple for local diets. Rich in stearic acid, oleic acid, vitamins A and E, flavonoids, triterpenes, and phytosterols, shea butter is prized for use in food, cosmetics, and medicinal products.

With its high melting point and resistance to oxidation, shea nut oil makes an exceptional plant-based cooking fat—ideal for replacing cocoa butter in chocolate and pastries, or as a clean alternative to dairy cream and lard. In skin care, its emollient and anti-inflammatory triterpenes soothe and hydrate, making it a favorite for moisturizers and protective creams.

Our organic shea butter is cold-pressed, BRC-certified, and fully traceable, supporting fair trade and empowering women producers across Africa. Their oils are exported to over 40 countries, delivering premium quality and sustainability to brands in food, beauty, and wellness sectors.
